Volunteers

Hosts & Hostesses

Our greatest need and most crucial position. We are looking for attentive, authentic, compassionate, “ready to jump into a congo line” kind of people. Our hosts and hostesses will be paired with a guest at the beginning of the evening and accompany them through all areas of Joy Prom, including sharing dinner and dancing, and finally returning them to checkout at the end of the event.  We are looking for people who are ready to commit to making a new friend and having fun together. We will have a one host to one guest ratio.  A host or hostess must be at least 16 years of age.

Red Carpet Fans

Red Carpet fans line the red carpet with the paparazzi and cheer for each guest, request autographs/selfies and generally provide an atmosphere of excitement. Red carpet fans must be sixth grade or older.  Fans under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Security

Security volunteers are stationed throughout the event to help guests find their way safely and securely. 

Photographers

Our professional photography team captures the entire night on camera. Amateur photographers are also welcome to join us on the red carpet, if you have a camera and an interest we would love to have you. 

Welcome Greeters

Welcome greeters are located at the official event entrance and will be available to help guests out of their vehicles and into the building. They are the first‐face of Joy Prom and will set the tone for the evening.  

Ball Room Attendants

Ballroom attendants will act as party hosts, attending to assigned tables, assisting guests and M waitstaff and managing ballroom activities. 

Hair & Make-up

Hair and Make‐up volunteers provide our female guests with minor hair and makeup and major positive vibes.

Entertainment

Our wonderful entertainers include cheerleaders, Critical Care Comics, Orchestra, A Magical Day Princesses, special guests from the Golden Knights, and more!

Parent Suite Attendants

Parent room attendants will welcome parents/caretakers of guests and help ensure they are comfortable.

Shoe Shine

Shoe shine volunteers will shine the shoes of our guests and offer some male bonding as well.

Flower Attendants

Flower attendants will assist guests in pinning on fresh flower corsages and boutonnieres. 

Registration 

Registration assists volunteers, guests and parent/chaperones with getting checked in to the event and securing a lanyard/name tag.  Registration volunteers also check out guests and volunteers at the end of the evening. 

Volunteer Room Attendants

Volunteer Room Attendants will support the event by staffing the hospitality suite, cleaning the tables and preparing for the next round of volunteers.  

Medical Team

Our medical team consists of health care providers. The role of the medical team is to provide first aid as needed and track and report any medical events that occur. *Thank you to M Family Care for being our Medical Team. 

Committee

Joy Prom Las Vegas is facilitated by passionate Board and Committee Members who represent every sector of our Las Vegas community and relies solely on volunteers to be successful.
